The Pod and the Pendulum: Urban Legends and Ghost Stories from St. Nazianz, WI
Learn about the urban legends and ghost stories that surround the small town of St. Nazianz, WI. Podcast host Chris Weber tries to link the real stories and figures in the cult-like settlement to the legends to discern the validity of the stories. Explore the beliefs and practices of the settlers and their prophet, Ambrose Ochwald, and his apocalyptic and mystical writings.
Man vs. Shark
In 1916 a series of shark attacks on the New Jersey coast set in motion our current view of what makes a "man-eater". To combat this fear, the statistic is always thrown around about how unlikely a shark attack is compared to so many other disasters (I.E. Lightning, Car Wrecks, Drowning). My talk will dive into how likely a shark is to meeting a demise from a human!
Don't Say "Boo!"
Join us for a first hand account of the excitement and thrill of working at a hands-on, full-contact haunted house. Learn about the perils of being a haunter, like getting punched in the face, working outside in the rain and cold, and loosing your voice every weekend for a month and a half. Get to know this unique breed of people that keep coming back year after year, despite the physical demands, just for the satisfaction of making people scream.
