The Host Country
Locals The Host Country bring you rock in a whole new way, blending Americana, blues, folk, and roots with a kick. Unique, lyrically driven music that's inviting and sincere but tinged with the rawness of the emotions within love - longing, regret, joy, and everything in between. Dual vocalists & songwriters Ty Wistrand (guitar) & Diana Weishaar (keys) along with a solid crew of Tom Rue (bass), Ethan Weishaar (drums), and Michael Lovan (guitar) use their music to tell a story that's heartfelt and relatable, and to have a good time while doing it. After a busy 2017/2018 season of releasing their self-titled album, touring, and playing local festivals, they're back in the studio and working on the next evolution of their sound.
A local 6-piece "tater tot casserole" rock band from knee-deep in the heartland combining a tight rhythm section, blistering horns and dynamic vocals. Also the best band description ever considering they can incorporate tater tots. In spring 2017 ENGLISH released its debut album, There’s Nothing New Under the Sun, features a broad range of sounds from the retro rock vibes of “Waiting” to alt-country stompers like “Devil You Know.” ENGLISH gets its name from lead man Chris English, but you'll also recognize the familiar names of Thomas Doggett (saxophone), Hans Decker (trumpet), Justin Goes (bass), Matthew Miller (guitar), and Shane Mills (drums).
Wayward's sound has often been compared to Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, The Lumineers, Jon Bellion, and even Imagine Dragons. With lyrics and music spanning ages and genres, there will be something for everybody!
Rooted in Minneapolis MN, Wayward tells the stories of the pursuit of happiness - through depression, love, and while still trying to be adults. In this pursuit, Wayward is playing 100 shows this year and bringing to life dozens of stories through songs at every show.
