If you want to do ONE thing for public education this year that will have the greatest impact, join us in Des Moines on Tuesday, February 5. Our legislators need to see in person that ALL Iowans - Democrats, Republicans, and Independents - prioritize our public schools. They are the foundation of our economy and of our communities. 92% of Iowa kids are educated in public schools - our future workforce, our future neighbors, and our future leaders.
We are collaborating with the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) to provide the background and training we need to be effective advocates. They are inviting us along because we've learned that parents* are the most powerful voices at the Capitol. Private school and home school parents are very organized and active. We need the voice of public schools to be heard loud and clear, too!
*In addition to parents of current public school students, business leaders, community leaders, and all tax payers are needed to advocate for strong public schools!
