QUESTIONS ABOUT TICKETS
Q: How do I print off my tickets? Do I need to print off my tickets?
A: With your printer ;) By pre-printing your online ticket you will expedite your wait time at the attraction. Once on site, you will need to redeem your printed ticket at the ticket booth in exchange for your official souvenir ticket. Your souvenir ticket will get you into the line and through the doors!
Q: Can I switch the time/date of my ticket? I can’t make it to my reservation.
A: Cancellations and rescheduling needs to be done 72 hours before your scheduled time. We highly suggest planning your trip to the haunted house in advance. However, please note like sporting events and large attractions, we do not give refunds under any circumstances.
Q: Are there discounts for children?
A: No. All tickets are the same price.
Q: Once we've paid for admission are we able to go through again?
A: No. However, you can purchase another ticket if you would like to walk through the haunted house again.
Q: Are group discounts available?
A: For group ticket inquiries please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: Do I get my money back if I make it through the haunted house?
A: Not this year.
Q: How long is the wait in line?
A: It depends. During our September hours, the wait is usually very short. The beginning of October, there is typically a short wait, maybe 30 minutes on a weeknight. As it gets closer to Halloween, specifically on a Friday or Saturday night, the wait can be long. The closer you come to opening time (7:00 pm) the shorter the wait. We do offer a Skip the Line pass which has little to no wait!
Q: Do you charge for parking?
Q: Is the waiting area inside?
A: Part of the waiting area is inside the haunted house and part is outside in a dock area. On busier nights the line will extend outside where there is no covering.
Q: How long does it take to go through?
A: It's really difficult to give an answer to this question- some groups run right through, while others take their time. It really depends on how well you can handle the fear! The Slaughterhouse is the largest and longest indoor haunted attraction in Des Moines! It’s safe to say it’s pretty big, so you should be in there long enough to get plenty scared!
Q: Is The Slaughterhouse handicap accessible?
A: Yes. We do our best to be handicap accessible inside the attraction! There are several large areas that have to be by-passed; we provide by-passes for all guests that cannot go through these parts of the haunted house. Please make sure that you check in with an Event Staff employee and they will help you through the house.
Q: Do you have a lot of strobe lights in the haunted house?
A: Yes. We have many strobe lights and fog throughout the entire haunted house. It is not recommended for people that have Epilepsy go through the haunted house. We also don't recommend people with asthma, heart issues and pregnant women go through the haunted house. You can always ask your physician to see if you should go through, however, we just don't want you to get hurt.

A: We do not have lockers or a coat check at the haunted house. Very small purses and/or bags are allowed in, other bags should be left at home.

A: As far as live creatures go, there are many life-like creatures in the haunted house. If there are real animals, they will be handled by professionals.
Q: Is there an age limit for The Slaughterhouse?
A: No. However, due to the graphic nature, it is not recommended for small children, toddlers or babies. We have had young children go through and have a great time and adults who go through and are in tears! You're the parent- you be the judge. A good rule of thumb is: if you wouldn't bring your child to a PG-13 rated movie, it's probably not a good idea to bring them to a haunted house.

A: We do not recommend pregnant women to go through the haunted house. We suggest calling your OBGYN and/or Physician to discuss the situation with them.
Q: If I have asthma, can I go inside of the haunted house?
A: We do not recommend people with asthma go through the haunted house.
