Due to the tremendous feedback from last year’s event, we are holding another Girls in the Shop Day! This year, participants may choose from three workshop sessions: wood working, metal working, and circuits. This workshop will be run by female professionals in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields from around the Des Moines metro area, with opportunities for workshop participants to learn about the volunteers’ careers, including a keynote speaker for lunch. At the end of the day, each participant will leave with their projects and a goody bag!
This workshop has been designed for girls entering grades 9-12.
Girls in the Shop Day seeks to provide a safe, inclusive environment for learning workshop skills. Please contact Robin Willick (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Anne Dohmen (email@example.com) if you have any questions about workshop participation or would like to request a scholarship.
